The Great Match (2006)

Alss called, La gran final, this is a comedy about the efforts of three groups of tribesman to get to a TV to see the final in Japan of the 2002 World Cup between Germany and Brazil. the tribes are a family of Mongolian nomads, a camel caravan in Niger in the Sahara, and a group of Indiians in the Amazon.
One of the Amazon Indians were wearing a Ronaldo shirt, while another recites play by play from a Brazilan Team soccer game while they hunt. The tribesmen who look like they are out of the deep jungle are really concened about the upcomng game. Tribal hunter Xama tries -- and repeatedly fails to get a TV set working so they can watch the game. Using a hand crank for power and a tribesman in a tree holding an antanae, they try to get the signal.
The Mongol nomads ride horses and have huge eagles perched on their wrists which they use for hunting. After a day out hunting and telling jokes they head back to their families and their tents. They hook up to power lines to watch the game but then an official come and tries to stop them from plugging in. When the official finds out what is on he decides to stay for the game.
In Niger's Tenere desert, a caravan of camels, led by Hassan comes across a truckload of people on their way to see the game in a nearby town. Since Hassan has a TV set, the camel drivers suggest the truck reroutes to an "iron tree" -- an abandoned military installation -- which will serve as an aerial. To his frustration, Mohamed is left alone to look after the camels. When the truck breaks down the men gather around the TV while the women complain.
Once the game stats the different groups gather around and cheer for their team. In the end Brazil wins and some of the people go home happy.
